Saint Joseph was a carpenter, husband to the Blessed Virgin Mary, and foster-father to Jesus. He had royal blood and could have been a king. His name means increase. He is known as a protector, a provider, and for having a very courageous and chaste heart as he loved and cared for the Holy family. Saint Joseph's purity is represented by the white lily on his cloak.
